Cate: Caught my eye, Finding Things

Bag Lady.

I have a serious bag problem. In my attempt to organize them all and pull some out for donation, I was inspired to photograph my collection quickly with my iphone. The plastic woven totes were one of the main inspirations for opening PLASTICA 16 years ago. The accumulation is natural with being a shop keeper that has carried various bag lines throughout the years, like Marimekko and Le Sportsac along with being given swag totes at the tradeshows, etc. I also never ask the grocery bagger for paper or plastic because I have plenty of my own totes to use for shopping. Here are all my bags, totes, pouches and purses, click to view larger and you can make me an offer…totes! hee hee!

Thrifty Finds – N.F.S.

Some small collections of treasures and goodies found on various thrifty pit stops. Each collection is a group of items found in that one day. I love stuff and looking for it is so fun! All for personal use and inspiration. Not for sale;)

MAINE Attraction!

Recycled float rope door mats! Lobstermen are now required to switch over from using float rope to sink rope in order to have less accidental harm to Whales. Rather than throwing all of this colorful, re-usable rope into the landfill, Maine Float-Rope Company collects it and weaves these amazing door mats. Each one  is one-of-a-kind, hand woven in Maine! Heavy and sturdy and able to withstand all weather: sun, wind, rain, and snow! Our friend Rupert helped source these out for us. See his door mat in use and packed with snow. Renee, You Gotta Check This Out!

Found this in the far corner of the warehouse of one of my vendors. ‘Hey, what is that?!’ I asked. ‘You want it – go for it’, said Mr. Ho. He gave me a good deal and his helper laughed when he was asked to go load it into my car.

Just could not resist this thick grey woven plastic basket housing this beautiful, huge green glass bottle. From Togo, West Africa – now it sits on our kitchen floor – 25″ tall and 22″ in diameter.
